Collection Agency Reminds Businesses to Stay On Top of Receivables Even During Summer Months

Memorial Day is Here; American Profit Recovery Advises Businesses to Stay on Track with Invoicing and Collections

Marlborough, Mass – American Profit Recovery, a collection agency based in Michigan, Massachusetts and North Carolina, has seen countless businesses lose track of their accounts receivables during the summer months. After Memorial Day, many lose site of the back end duties of their business for several reasons.

From vacations to seasonal businesses that require the owner to work the front lines, there are many reasons important tasks take a backseat. American Profit Recovery has long touted the importance of basics when it comes to running a business and the accounts receivables that come along with it. The collection agency has come up with several tips for managing the basics of an accounts receivables program and has issued a video on the same topic;

-Invoice on a regular basis and don't put it off: Many small business owners are also front line operators who service customers. Don't let that get in the way of taking time at regular intervals to get your invoices out. If possible, invoice or take payment at time of service.

-Don't take it personally when you don't get paid: If you're in business for any length of time, you're going to have some bad debt. Deal with it in a timely and respectful manner and get third-party help when it goes too long.

-Get off on the right track:  Use accounting software to track your businesses including who has not paid yet.

-Review contracts: Have your contract or agreement you use with clients reviewed by an attorney so you're protected and make sure to gather as much contact information as possible on the person you are servicing.

There are many other important items to consider when running a business and keeping track of unpaid invoices including when to retain the services of a reputable collection agency.
