We’re proud to say that, as in many of the past several years, we have earned the distinction of being one of the best places to work in the collection industry. It’s a recognition that we do not take for granted every year and work hard to achieve.
Maintaining an environment and a culture where people want to come to work and are excited about what the day brings them is truly one of the best parts of seeing this organization grow and thrive.
For over two decades, we have provided individuals from all walks of life with the opportunity to build and grow a career that they themselves can be proud of. But we didn’t do it alone. Collectively with our team, we’ve built an organization that people want to be a part of long-term and continue to make a difference.
For those who may have a different perception of our industry, we’d love to shed some light on how we continue to be one of the best places to work in this industry.
We’ve built a culture of helping others
We would argue that there is no greater satisfaction than having a career where you can help others. Every day here, team members not only have the chance to help others but it’s their job. Whether it’s our professional collectors, customer service, sales or admin, everyone understands that it is our job to help the person we are communicating with.
Take for example the person who accepts a position as a professional debt collector. In the past, debt collections was all about demanding payments from consumers. A debt collector told the consumer how they were going to pay it off.
Today however, that debt collection professional works together with the consumer and helps them navigate the complexities of the situation they are in. Helping a consumer not only increases the chances of getting the outstanding bill resolved, but it’s just the right thing to do.
When we talk about employees, who do you think is going to want to build a long-term career? It’s the person who can go to work and help someone who needs it. Even if it’s the debt collection industry.
Having a rock solid support system
There are many aspects of our organization that we are proud of and one of them is how we support team members at every level. Take for example training and continuing education.
Sure, employees are provided a detailed training program when they come to work here. But it does not stop there.
We have a culture of continuous nurturing and development at all levels. Employees should not only have the opportunity for continuous learning and skill building but they should also be offered continuous feedback about how they’re doing and how they may be more effective in their position.
The founders and owners of this organization do not sit in a closed office down the hall. They sit amongst all the team members. And everyone has access to them when needed.
We accept people as individuals
Working at American Profit Recovery means you are accepted as who you are. We have people working here from a wide range of backgrounds, professions, and ways of thinking. If you’re ready to do the work, help others and set and meet goals, there is most likely a place for you here.
Some of the people who have come to build their career here include executives, former business owners, food service professionals, and more. And of course, those who currently work in the collection industry who want to do things differently.
Core qualities make the difference

While we do take care of and nurture all employees, having a forward-thinking mindset helps team members thrive here.
Work ethic, integrity and a positive attitude are a must for working here. When you have an organization made up of individuals who want to work hard, do the right thing, and lift each other up, you end up with a great place to work and build a career.
Having a great place to work means retaining employees
In today’s environment, when employees stay at a company for 10, 15, 20 years or more, that should tell you something. People stay at an organization when they are respected, supported and provided an opportunity to have purpose and fulfillment.
When those elements are not present, people leave.
We have many team members that are approaching two decades of employment with us. That should tell you this is a great place to work!
