Clean up your books this fall…and those leaves…

Fall time is a great time to clean up your books before the end of the year.  Many Contractors and Green Industry Professionals such as lawncare and landscapers wait until the end of the year, or the start of a new year to assess their accounts receivables, but we really encourage you to look sooner.  The steadfast rule, ‘the older a debt gets, the harder it is to collect’ is true year round, but can be magnified as consumers look to the holiday season.  If you haven’t billed, or sent statements in few weeks or months, it is time to do it now, and if no response from your customers, it may be time to consider outside help from a third party collection agency.

When looking for a third party collection agency, consider one that not only focuses on recovery, but also a resolution.  Many times, if a third party is implemented correctly, they can not only resolve the majority of the debts assigned, but they can keep many of the customers who resolve the debt active.

Then, moving forward, that customer is educated and knows your policy. We share your goal of keeping your customers after the collection process and we do everything we can to make that happen.

So while you’re cleaning up the leaves this fall, take the time to do the same to your books.
