Green Industry Expo 2014 (GIE)

By: Matt Helz

This was my first opportunity attending the GIE down in Louisville KY. What an awesome experience!   I had the privilege of attending the trade show with two of the best guys to learn from, Matt Moskowitz and Andy Yavallo.

What made the experience so great was seeing the interaction between Matt, Andy and their clients. The relationships they have with their clients are amazing! Every time I turned, somebody was coming up to them to say hi and give them a huge hug. It was like witnessing old friends meeting after being away for a long while. It showed me that APR is not just about growing a business and being successful for our […]

Honor and Courage !

As we approach Veterans Day, I wanted to throw a few feelings down about why this is such a great day.  First, my Grandfather served in the US Army and second, my Dad served in the US Navy on the USS Forrestal.  Both were and are great men!

I think about the courage that a person has to have in order to make a commitment to serve our country.  Knowing that they could possibly make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedom that we all some days take for granted.

We absolutely live in the greatest country in the world, and I know that we probably do not truly understand just how great we have it.  I […]

There’s Creativity In All Of Us

I recently attended the Kentucky Bankers Association annual convention. I wrote about the wealth of information and knowledge many of us walked away with last week in our blog.

One of the best presentations I attended was on creativity. Yes, creativity!

There was a riveting presentation by a gentleman named Erik Wahl.  His presentation was labeled UNthink.  We were enlightened with some brilliant artwork and insights on how to not lose your creativity that we all had as kids.  Over time we all become less creative and more conforming in the way we conduct ourselves and our lives.  From school k-12, we are taught to do things the same way and as we […]

Looking back at the past 10 Years….

You may remember some historical events like, Hurricane Katrina, the recession, the 10 year remembrance of 9/11, the election and re-election of the first non-white President, or even the creation of YouTube and Twitter.

You also may remember the deaths of The Crocodile Hunter- Steve Irwin, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Ronald Reagan, Johnny Carson, Dick Clark, Nelson Mandela, and Robin Williams.

While things like Facebook, Angry Birds, One Direction, Harry Potter, AGT, Grand Theft Auto, “selfies” and Duck Dynasty have become all too commonly known; we have been hard at work growing American Profit Recovery.

Let us share some of our accomplishments:

-We celebrate our 10 years in business in a time where only about one third of new […]

Join Us For Making Strides on October 11th!

I just wanted to make a point of inviting everyone to join us at our annual Making Strides walk on October 11th in Howell, MI.  If I’m not mistaken, it will be our 7th year participating in this event.  It’s always a great chance to get outside and spend some time with your co-workers and friends.  Personally, I feel like it’s a chance to honor the memory of my grandmother who passed away from breast cancer in 1985.  The money raised from this event goes towards finding new and better ways to treat and cure this disease, and I have no doubt that the advances made in both treating and preventing this disease have improved […]

I quit my job…10 years ago…

So a company is celebrating 10 years in business. Is that a big deal? Well to me it is. And, I am proud to say that it is this collection agency celebrating it! About 11 years ago myself and my business partners starting talking about starting our own collection agency. A few of us thought we were nuts.

Leaving great jobs with a strong company in an industry that was growing?

Leaving behind thriving, award winning offices that we spent years building?

Taking no paycheck for who knew how long even though we all had growing families with small children?

Well, a bigger part of us was just crazy enough to believe that we could […]

Thoughts As We Approach 10 Years in Business

Ten years as a reputable collection agency

American Profit Recovery is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this month. It’s hard to believe it was September of 2004 when we opened our doors and started helping our first client resolve their delinquent accounts. A lot has happened since then, we have expanded to 3 locations including Michigan, North Carolina and Massachusetts, we employ 53 people, we collect all over the country and we have resolved over 230 million dollars of bad debt for our clients.

There are over 6,000 collection agencies in the U.S. Some agencies come, and a lot of agencies go. I believe there are several reasons American […]

Joe Kocur Charity Softball Game

By Joe Witkowski

I would like to say thank you to Jeff Spurgess for giving me tickets to the Joe Kocur Charity Softball game. It was great to see one of my favorite Red Wings, Darren McCarty, out there playing.

It seems that the older I get the less I follow sports. However, when I was joe kocur blog picyounger I was a big fan of the Detroit Red Wings. I would watch all of their games and followed the team when they won the Presidents Cup in 1996 only to lose to Colorado in the finals. Also, I followed the team when they won the Stanley Cup over the […]

Who You Know Can Help You Get Hired

By Tricia Renee

When I hire out the tuck-pointing on my house, I will call a referral from a neighbor. When I pick a stylist to deal with my hair, I ask around first. When I invest, I want the best. I want someone I trust.

Businesses are the same way, it turns out. When they need someone to join the team and do some lifting, they agree, it’s just better having someone who comes recommended.

At American Profit Recovery, our team is made up of a lot of referred staff. I believe this is a big reason why APR is such a great place to work. It’s so great that we want our friends working here and […]

A Look Back at a Long Career in Collections

I am writing this blog as a reflection of my time at American Profit Recovery and to tell you some of the reasons why it is a great place to work.

First, I hope you have chosen to use the summer to rest, relax and even disconnect a bit. We all need to reflect on our recent successes and failures as well as the challenges ahead. These moments are vital to careful planning and future successes.

The staff here at American Profit Recovery has been of great help to me and their camaraderie have made every day worthwhile. Further, the company has a profound mission to make a difference and change the fundamental way in which a […]
